by KCOnDemand.com Kansas City

The Johnson County Library in a cost reduction effort has notified library patrons that effective December 31, 2009, paper notices for overdue materials, holds and bills will no longer be mailed. As an alternative the library offers both e-mail and phone notification which have been popular with many library users as they receive the information about due dates more quickly than with mail notices. It is estimated that elimination of the mailed notifications will save the library over $72,000.00 annually.
