Note: The Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, Oakland Raiders and St. Louis Rams are on a bye.
1.
Vernon Davis vs. TEN: Davis is the best in the league among healthy TEs and is facing a porous Tennessee Titans pass defense.
2.
Dallas Clark vs. HOU: Clark has a great matchup against a defense that struggles defending passes over the middle.
3.
Jeremy Shockey vs. CAR: Although the Carolina Panthers have been great against TEs, Shockey and the New Orleans Saints offense has been on a tear recently. Go with the hot hand against Carolina.
4.
Jason Witten vs. PHI: Witten has been very disappointing this year, but the Philadelphia Eagles have been terrible against TEs. Look for Witten to make at least one big play this week.
5.
Kevin Boss vs. SD : Look for Boss to put together a solid day against an inconsistent San Diego Chargers defense.
6.
Antonio Gates vs. NYG: The New York Giants have a strong pass defense, but have had trouble keeping TEs out of the end zone.
7.
Tony Gonzalez vs. WAS: The Washington Redskins have been great against TEs recently, but Gonzalez and the Atlanta Falcons offense have something to prove this week.
8.
Ben Watson vs. MIA: Miami is one of the worst teams in the league against TEs and Watson is a part of a dynamic offense.
9.
Fred Davis vs. ATL: Davis has stepped up well since Chris Cooley went down with an injury. Atlanta has trouble covering TEs, so don’t be surprised with a big day from Davis.
10.
Brent Celek vs. DAL: Since Week 2, Celek has caught for 60 or more yards in all but two games. Don’t be surprised to see the Dallas Cowboys defense struggle to keep up with Celek as a part of the explosive Philadelphia Eagles offense.
11.
Greg Olsen vs. ARI: Olsen has not been spectacular recently, but has put up solid numbers. Expect him to have another solid game this week.
12.
Heath Miller vs. DEN: The Denver Broncos have been great against TEs, but Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger can keep a play alive for a long time. Expect him to look for Miller when he is under pressure or trying to extend a play.
13.
Tony Scheffler vs. PIT: The Steelers are likely to go after Broncos QB Kyle Orton, who will likely use Scheffler as a bailout when he is under pressure.
14.
John Carlson vs. DET: Carlson has struggled lately after a great start to the season, but he should be able to rebound against a Detroit Lions defense that struggles mightily against TEs.
15.
Todd Heap vs. CIN: Cincinnati is among the worst in the league at defending TEs over the last three weeks. Heap is a solid spot start in case of bye weeks or injuries.
