Buffs Roll Over

Colorado (1-3, 2-6)

Last: Lost 36-17 vs. Missouri

Kansas fans are wondering where this team was when the Jayhawks visited Boulder a few weeks ago. Then again, Mizzou was able to avoid shooting itself in the foot the way the Jayhawks did. Tyler Hansen, who looked like a serviceable quarterback against KU, has lost his luster, and the offensive line isn’t helping any. Still, Dan Hawkins hasn’t gone back to his son Cody.

The Buffaloes are 114th out of 120 teams in total rushing. At 2-6, CU will have to win out against Texas A&M, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, and Nebraska to become bowl eligible.

Next: at Texas A&M

The Aggies ran the ball for 267 yards against Iowa State at home a week ago. After this game the Buffaloes might be longing for the days when they were 114 out of 120 teams against the run.

North Outlook

Well, technically the Buffaloes still have a shot. But even though the Buffs are tied at 1-3 with KU and MU, it’s hard to see a scenario where they win three more games to get into a possible 4-4 tiebreaker hunt.

Never say never, but if CU managed to win the north at 4-4, they’d still be 5-7 and ineligible for a bowl game. That’s insane. It’s enough to make a Jayhawk sick. The good news is that KU probably won’t have to worry about CU in a tiebreaker situation.
